Today I had the oppurtunity to kick it with one of LA’s most recognized hip hop mixtape Dj’s in the game…. DJ ill will. When I usually shoot Dj’s or hip hop artist in general its usually “the normal”…..big ass chains, clouds of smoke, tardiness etc… etc… (im not trippin…lol…it is what it is) Anywayzzz back to what I was saying…Unlike typical Hip Hop shoots, today’s shoot with ill Will was very different and specific.
Although he en-composes everything that is hip hop he wanted THE EXACT OPPOSITE. If you know me…you know I can rock with just about anything. But for what ever reason I really had to think…and think hard…how can I capture hip hop minus the in your face actions, bling – bling & glits and glamor that hip hop usually calls for. I will admit, i was being super analytical with this one just for the simple fact I wanted to really nail it. At the end of the day Will just really wanted chill shots that reflect his personality.
